Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham holds India’s only UNESCO Chair in Women’s Empowerment Gender Equality (CEWEGE) and offers a leading integrated social work program.

The integrated B/MSW is a structured 5-year program that leads to a Masters Degree in Social Work, with an option to graduate with a Bachelors Degree at the end of the 3rd year.

Dr. Bhavani Rao, Director and Chair of CWEGE is one of the most renowned and award-winning researchers in her field. Dr Rao states, “as physicians are concerned with physical problems of their patients, we at AMRITA consider social workers as the doctors of social issues. Therefore, the profession is and will be a significant pillar of a functioning society.”

Dr. Meltem Akoyak-Yildiz

Dr. Meltem Alkoyak-Yildiz joined AMMACHI Labs as an Assistant Professor at the Amrita University in August 2017. Before that, she was a faculty member and research fellow, focusing on Educational, Learning Sciences and Psychology at the Ludwigs-Maximilian University (LMU) in Munich, Germany.
