The dynamic and young Malayalam music director Rahul Raj of the Lokah Samasthah fame inaugurated the Fest. Now a movie music director, Rahul has several top movies to his credit such as Chota Mumbai and Ritu.

Essay, short story, poetry, creative writing competitions or Krithi Tarang, eastern music (group and solo) and instrumental music or Swara Tarang, painting and sketching contests or Kala Tarang marked the following two days.

Students also participated in Bhava Tarang, a variety show with adzap, mime and acting on the spot, Natya Tarang with group and solo dances and Vachya Tarang with extempore, recitation and kathaprasangam competitions.

A unique video presentation put together by the students proved to be a memorable highlight. The journey of talent at the Amrita School of Dentistry from Marmaram ’05 to Expressions ’06 through Sanskriti ’07 to Ignite ’08, and finally the dawn of Tarang ‘09 – this was a visual of priceless memories set to captivating music.
