Amrita Center for International Programs is happy to announce various opportunities that is offered by the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), competition for the year 2019 – 2020 Fulbright-Nehru and other Fulbright fellowships for Indian citizens. 

Fellowship Category:

Masters’ students, professors, researchers, and other professionals.  

Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships – Application due date: July 16, 2018

These fellowships are for faculty and research scholars, who have obtained their doctoral degree in the last four years, to pursue a postdoctoral research fellowship in the U.S. for 8 to 24 months.

The eligible fields of study for the Fulbright Nehru Doctoral and Postdoctoral fellowships are:  Agricultural Sciences; Bioengineering; Computer Science (with emphasis on cyber security and digital economy); Economics; Education Policy and Planning; Energy Studies; International Law; International Security and Strategic Studies; Materials Science (with emphasis on environmental applications); Neurosciences; Public Health; Public Policy; Study of India (limited to anthropology, history, sociology, and visual and performing arts); Study of the United States (limited to anthropology, history, sociology, and visual and performing arts); Urban and Regional Planning (with emphasis on smart cities and waste management); Women’s and Gender Studies.

Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowships – Application due date: July 16, 2018

This fellowship is meant for faculty, professionals and senior researchers, and provides an opportunity to teach and/or research at a U.S university for 4 to 9 months. One can opt for the Flex award if they want to split the grant time into 2 parts – each part no less than 1 month and no more than 3 months.

Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships – Application due date: July 16, 2018

Aimed at building long-term capacity in climate research, the Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowships provides opportunities to talented faculty and researchers to strengthen their research capabilities. Under this category, students registered for a Ph. D at an Indian institution by August 1, 2016 can apply for a six to nine month fellowship. In addition, Indian faculty and researchers who have obtained their doctoral degree in the last four years, can apply for a Postdoctoral research for eight to twelve months.
