Amrita Hospital, Kochi, commemorated The World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2022. The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Day is “Make mental health for all a global priority”. In association with Department of Psychiatry, Amrita Hospital, Kochi and Department of Mental Health Nursing, Amrita College of Nursing, various programs were organized including a flash mob and a skit “Pratheeksha” in order to spread awareness regarding mental health issues in the community and seeking help for the same. The program was by Inaugurated by Dr. Bindu Menon (Professor and HOD, Department of Psychiatry). Professor Sreedevi (HOD, Department of Mental Health Nursing) delivered the welcome address. Dr. Kathleen Anne Mathew (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry) introduced and explained the theme of the day to the public and Dr. Arya Jith (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry) delivered the vote of thanks. Various competitions and games were also organised for the inpatients at psychiatry ward, Amrita Hospital. On this World Mental Health Day let us pledge to spread awareness regarding mental health, to break down the stigma associated with it and promote help seeking behavior.
