Vidyut is a three-day national level inter-collegiate multi-fest, organized by the students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus. The footfall crosses 20,000 and participation of more than 300 colleges and schools, this fest has come a long way from its humble inception in 2012. Through various competitions, hands-on training, workshops, discussions, live concerts and cultural events, Vidyut facilitates a forum for young minds, inspiring them to contribute creatively to integrate knowledge and talent. Every year, Vidyut takes up themes of global importance and societal relevance.
Vidyut boasts a prize money of Rs. 15 lakhs with 25+ highly competitive contests in all disciplines of engineering, sciences, robotics, gaming, business incubation, social media & entrepreneurship, cubing, photography, short film making etc.
The event witnesses 30+ workshops in various cutting-edge areas of various engineering disciplines, robotics, business, science, film and photography. Various Flagship events, stalls, informal events and food stalls are always there on Vidyut.
The workshops have been offered by leading companies such as Facebook Developer’s Circle, Texas Instruments, Skyfi Labs, ATREE, EEE, ASBT, ACM, IEEE, FTII and so on. Other highlights of the tech fest include fascinating exhibitions & Auto Expo, school outreach and product design, development & demonstration.
Vidyut Cup- Football Tournament, Slam Dunk –Basketball Tournament for both boys and girls are the Sports events. Another highlight event of the fest is ‘Choreonite’ where the dance team’s clashes with intense performances.
Vidyut provides the students an opportunity to improve their technical skills, gain exposure and widen their perspective about society. This student-driven multi-fest showcases and celebrates the innovation, ingenuity, teamwork and talent of the students of AMRITA.
Some of the renowned artists who have been part of the ‘Revel Proshows’ include playback singers Naresh Iyer, Shankar Mahadevan and Job Kurian, AGAM Band, ‘When Chai met Toast’ Band, Harichandran Ft. Bennet and the Band, Avial Band, Mentalist Arjun Guru, Sunburn Campus artists named DJ Siana Catherine Rodriguez, DJ Mr. Bose, an EDM producer and DJ Ricky Brown.
