IPL Quiz

The IPL Quiz was conducted last year November month. It was conducted at the time when IPL was also simultaneously taking place so as to create curiosity among students to test their knowledge about their favourite players, teams etc. The event saw a very good participation as around 30 participants took part in this event. Participants enjoyed the variety of questions threw at them and tried their best in answering all the questions by trying to connect the dots.

Every quiz event is a part of the Quiz league which is maintained by the quiz league. The participants who keep taking part regularly get points for participation and the participants who finish at top 3 get additional points. This method makes the participants attend quizzes regularly and stand a chance to finish at the top. This also helps in gaining more knowledge for the participants if they are taking part in back to back events.

Events

Workshops

Series of hands-on workshops (viz. RC Aircraft design, Quadcopter design, IC Engine workshops) have been conducted every semester under the ambit of Ingenium to enhance the students’ competencies in the core field.

Software Training and Certification

Many design industries look forward to hire candidates with exceptional skills other than just a UG degree. In this regard, the forum offers the students an opportunity to enroll themselves into software training package (viz. CATIA, CREO, FUSION) to enhance their modelling and analysis skills in Mechanical Engineering Design. Experts from training institutes will train the students and a licensed certificate will be issued at the end of the course.

Industrial Tour

Mechanical Engineering study will be incomplete if the students are not exposed to the best practices adopted in industry. To cater to this requirement, industrial tours will be organised by the forum every year to facilitate the students have the practical exposure of the working atmosphere and sophisticated equipment used in industries.

Varahi Hydro Electric power plant, Kaiga Nuclear power plant and Udupi thermal power plant are few of the industries visited in the recent past.

Curious Us

Informative and brainstorming weekly sessions where the students are educated with the current and emerging innovative technologies in the field of mechanical engineering. This is an activity-based interactive session that enables students to overcome stage fear and deliver talks confidently before the audience.

Make in Amrita

Prototype building session followed by a contest is organised by the forum where the students are provided with the resources and necessary guidance to build their own model. This activity builds the creativity among students.

Seminars by industry experts

Highly accomplished personalities from industries are invited to address students regarding current trends, challenges and opportunities in the field of mechanical engineering. The students will have an opportunity to interact with them and seek expert inputs.

Fun and technical events

These events are usually conducted during the school fests. They are generally fun filled events on the applications of science and some interesting stuff.

IC Engines Hands On Workshop

Hands on workshop on IC engines was conducted in the year 2019, where the students participated had a very good technical understanding of IC Engines parts and functions. The workshop enabled practical dismantling and assembling of engines.

Curious Us Session on Hydraulic Pumps and Softwares used in Mechanical Engineering

A presentation session was conducted on Hydraulic pumps to enlighten students the basic working of a pump and it’s types along with the softwares used in Mechanical Engineering. At the end a quiz was conducted to test students knowledge.

Curious Us Session on Facts of F1 and Stealth Aircraft

An illustrative, brainstorming session was conducted to teach students basic knowledge on stealth aircraft and its design along with question and answer session on facts of Formula 1 cars.
