On March 13, the faculty attended a talk – “Rewards of Happiness” by Dr. Satya Paul, Former Professor of Economics University of western Sydney New South Wales, Australia. The programme was arranged by Amrita Centre for Economic Fragility and Governance.

Workshop
  • Institute of Computer Accountant in Kochi, held a Workshop on,”How to become a certified Industrial Accountant” on January 23, 2017 for Final Year Commerce Students.
  • Dr. T. G. Manoharan, Chairperson, Department of Commerce and Management along with Mr. Sreesankar R. S., Research Scholar, Department of Commerce and Management, Mr. Indrajith G., Mr. Archith A. R., Mr. Vishnu B., Post Graduate students of Department of Commerce and Management attended SAARC Expert consultation meeting on “Assessment of the Role of Agro-Processing as a key component of Rural mass employment and Rural development Model”, held at Amrita School of Business, Ettimadai during August 18-19, 2016
  • Mr. Sreesankar R. S., attended, “Awareness Conference on Responsible Business Practice”, held on September 22-23, 2016 at Hotel Radisson Blu in Kochi.
Outreach Activities
  • Our students participated in the cleaning campaign at Sabarimala organized by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
  • The students participated in a week-long camp in the last week of December in these villages. It is expected that they will come out with meaningful solutions to the problems of the villages.
  • In order to enhance the quality of our students and ensure their academic and career progression, general knowledge classes were launched from October 6, 2016. The classes are conducted by Adv. Vinodkumar K. for a batch of selected students.
  • As part of Serve an Hour (SaH) programme students of S1 BBA visited Ochira HSS School on November 16, 2016 and students of S1 B Com visited BJSM Madathil HSS on November 22, 2016. The students covered various topics with the goal of creating awareness on various social and moral issues such as, rehabilitation of Tsunami victims, rural transformation, ethical life models, water preservation, organic farming, sanitation etc.
  • Our S3 M Com students are participating in Live-in-Lab Project. They visited Komalikudi village in Idukki and Modakkara in Wayanad on November 27, 2016. This was a pilot survey intended to get information on pesticide usage, organic farming, soap powder making etc
  • The students participated in a week-long camp in the last week of December in these villages. It is expected that they will come out with meaningful solutions to the problems of the villages
  • On January 19, the students and faculty organised and participated fervently in the Weekly Bhajan session of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. It turned out to be a memorable experience.
  • Research Forum Inauguration – In view of the need for increasing the Research Publication by the students and faculty, the department constituted a Research publication by the students and faculty on August 1, 2013
