Disha is a unique platform envisioned by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham – Office of Admissions to guide the school students to choose the best career. The exponential growth of technology and digitisation heralds a future where the domains in STEAM will play vital role in empowering careers in the future. As per the recent trends, jobs of the future will require basic science and mathematics skills. As we embrace online education, it is very important to educate the youth, especially the students who are in the 10^th, 11^th and 12^th standard. We are also in a transition to accept the National Education Policy in near future. The whole career landscape is changing, looking for a complete change in the post pandemic era. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is trying to educate the future generation through a series of live lectures, answering the queries online during these sessions. Experts will talk to the students and help them to choose the best career to shape their future. Students have to understand that engineering or medicine is not the only career option, look beyond these for a bright career. Students will have to register through the Amrita Mobile App. They will be called and given guidance on how to attend the class. There will be an online one-to-one chat with interested students. Our counsellors will also help you to clarify the doubts. After the following sessions, students can still continue to talk to our counsellors for effective career guidance.

How Can a School Student Attend these Sessions?

Day 1: 21^st Century Skills & Psychometric Test, 45 minutes + 15 min Q&A

We start with the 21^st century skills essential for any engineer. Understanding Your Strength & Weakness and those kills through Psychometric Test is the first step. This needs you to have the psychometric test prior to this session. Psychometric test will give you a report on your personality traits. Test report will be a pointer to help you in deciding the undergraduate degree.

Day 2: Changing Face of Engineering Career 60 minutes + 15 min Q&A

We all are aware of the changes happening around us with the use of technology. In this session, we will explore the expectations from the future engineers from the industrial perspective. This session will have more details on the competency requirement among future engineers as the country is gearing up the implementation of National Educational Policy 2020.

Day 3: Engineering Branches in Detail, 60 minutes + 15 min Q&A

Difference between various branches, curriculum, placement opportunities, and possible job profiles. Aerospace, Mechanical / Civil & Chemical / Circuit Branches / Computer Science. Enabling you to choose the best career based on your skills, interest and abilities.

Day 4: Higher Education Aboard, 45 minutes + 15 min Q&A.

Higher Education degrees abroad to pursue after B.Tech / BE in India, Student Exchange programs, Ph.D. opportunities, Internships abroad, Scholarships, etc.

Day 5: Stress & Time Management

This session is mainly for the students who wish to attempt JEE Mains / Advance, other university entrance examinations, and going for coaching in 10^th or 11^th standard. This session will help the students to balance between various examinations & stress created by those examinations. Sessions to start from the 2^nd week of December.
