About Amrita School of Dentistry

The BDS course offered by Amrita School of Dentistry commenced in September 2003 and was inaugurated by Smt. Sushma Swaraj, the then Minister for Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India.

The School is housed in a self - contained four - storey building, having a built - up area of 154,000 sq. ft., and is one of the biggest dental colleges in Asia.

The building includes pre - clinical dental laboratories, lecture halls, conference center, faculty members offices, administrative offices, clinical treatment areas, small group discussion areas, research labs and library.

The School of Dentistry offers B. D. S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), the professionally accredited degree aiming at developing students' clinical skills under cltose supervision and mentoring of faculy members. The School also offers Diploma in Dental Mechanics which is a two-year course after +2. The course is very demanding and remunerative.



The School offers M. D. S. in specializations such as Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine & Radiology, Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Ortho Dontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Pedodontics & Preventive Detistry, Periodontology, Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge and Public Health Dentistry.
