Department of Dravyaguna Conducts ‘Dravyamritam’

Dravyamritam is an annual program organized by the Department of Dravyaguna, Amrita School of Ayurveda, to generate interest among students about the subject Dravyaguna Vijnana. It also provides awareness among students about the medicinal plants, their properties and uses, as well as how to propagate and conserve them. Every year, 2nd year BAMS students get the privilege to conduct Dravyam day and the programs will be based on a theme and will be named after this. This year it was named as ‘Prabodhani 19’ and was conducted by the 2017 batch on January 21, 2019.

Ranga Pooja by PG scholars of Dravyaguna department preceded the inaugural ceremony and the program commenced with a prayer. Following the inaugural function, there was an invited talk by Dr. Dileep Kumar P. P. on “Vegetative Conservation and Propagation”. ‘Dyuthi’, a video exhibition was held during the event which showcased plant propagation, exotic drugs, researches of home remedies and conservation of nature. There also were Quiz programs by PG scholars, various entertainment programs by the UG students and ‘Shrishti’, a batch-wise competition for students to express their creative ideas about newspaper recycling.
