Br. Sivanandan joined Amrita as a faculty in 2007. After completing his post-graduation from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, he worked as a Research Associate for 3 years in Sukrtindra Oriental Research Institute, Kochi. His current research interests is in History of Science, Knowledge Traditions & Practices of India and the Cross Cultural Circulation of Knowledge.

Fellowship

UNESCO Sahapedia Fellowship 2017 for documenting the history of Kerala School of Astronomy and Mathematics. The Fellowship is for 3 months starting from October 2017.

Consultancy

Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts has awarded a consultancy project to design, construct and transfer a scale model of falcon fire altar for their Vedic Heritage museum at New Delhi. The project will be completed by December 2017.

  • Faculty Mentor – Amrita Astronomy Club, from 2009 to 2015.
  • Faculty Coordinator – Student’s Internships organized by International Forum for India’s Heritage (IFIH) at the Coimbatore campus. As part of internship, students prepared material to be used for a DVD on the subject of Science and Technology in Ancient India. The internships were from December 7 -19, 2009 and June 5-24, 2010. Sri. Michel Danino was the Internship Director.
