SERB – International Research Experience Award- 2022

Dr. Aarathi Pradeep won the SERB-SIRE award for carrying out International collaborative Research on wearable microfluidic devices at North Carolina State University under the mentorship of Dr. Amay J Bandodkar for a period of 6 months.

Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award- 2018 (GYTI-2018)

Jeethu Raveendran and Dr. T. G. Satheesh Babu won the Gandhian Young Technological Award for their frugal innovation, the “Anemia meter”. The device was portable, easy to develop, and use as a microhematocrit centrifuge that could directly provide haemoglobin levels in the sample.

Anveshan 2015

Aarathi Pradeep, Vidhu Sara Vargis and Vineeth Raj S won second prize at Anveshan 2015,  a national-level Student Research Convention organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, during March 28-30, 2016. They bagged the second prize in the Basic Sciences category for their invention, Affordable Lab on a chip point of care diagnostic device for the early screening of cancer.

Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award (IYBA)

Dr. T. G. Satheeesh Babu received the Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award (IYBA 2013), instituted by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India. The award consists of a citation, cash prize (Rs.3 lakhs) and a project grand of about 50 lakhs to conduct research on “Development of Lab-on-a-chip for early detection of cancer in women”.

Anveshan 2013

P. V.  Suneesh, John Stanley and Keerthy Dhara won first prize at Anveshan 2013, a national-level Student Research Convention organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences during March 20-22, 2013. They bagged the first prize in the Basic Sciences category for their invention, Lab-on-a-Chip Diagnostic Device that could help bring low-cost clinical services to every doorstep in India.
