The 12th Convocation of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was held at Coimbatore campus on September 7, 2015. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Honourable Union Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India and Shri. N. Chandrasekaran, CEO, TCS, were the Guests of Honour at the convocation ceremony. 5036 graduating students, in their traditional attire, from all 5 Amrita campuses viz. Amritapuri, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Mysore and Kochi, received their degree certificates. This included 24 graduands receiving their doctoral degrees.   Brahmachari Abhayamrita Chaitanya, the Pro-Chancellor of Amrita University, welcomed the gathering. Dr. P. Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor of Amrita University, presented the annual report highlighting the various significant accomplishments of the university. Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri, Member, Board of Management, Amrita University delivered the benedictory address.

QS brings out the World University Rankings (WUR), which is regarded as one of the most influential and coveted university rankings in the world. QS University Rankings: BRICS was developed to track the relative progress of leading universities in BRICS countries. This ranking is based on key performance indicators relating to global reputation, employability, internationalization, faculty quality and research output and impact.
