HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTION

Amrita School of Education, formerly known as Amrita Shikshana Mahavidyalaya was started in the year 2004, duly approved by NCTE and was affiliated to the Mysore University. Later, it was renamed as Amrita School of Education in the month of August 2006. It was then brought under the ambit of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on 10th November 2006.

The School of Education is a self-financing institution emphasizing on quality Teacher Education with special focus on values, offering an under graduate programme, viz., Bachelor of Education, two year with four semesters following choice based credit system and continues comprehensive evaluation to promote holistic development of student teachers.
