About Amrita Center for International Programs (ACIP)
The seeds of the international collaborations were sown in 2005, when a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Amrita University and various US Universities, some of which are ranked among the best universities in the world. In the brief span of 6 years, the activities of the Indo-US Department of Amrita university have expanded to include state-of-the-art research, dual degree programs, student and faculty exchange, Distinguished lectures and visitors, online lecture series , digital resources , joint research projects and many more.
To facilitate this increase in activity the Amrita Center for International Programmes was formed with the authority to coordinate, lead, review, and take overall ownership and responsibility for all International Programmes. Its role include establishing links with peer institutions abroad, supporting short and long term faculty exchanges, projects, co-ordination of overseas visits by senior University representatives, engagement with national and international agencies encouraging and facilitating collaborative teaching and research initiatives between Amrita faculty and colleagues at institutions around the world, and advising on international distance education, with the expressed goal of increasing global competence and cross-cultural understanding for the university community and beyond.
