M.Tech. EEE Students Blend Tech and Service in Field Trip to Idukki

Forty-five M.Tech. students of Power & Energy, Control & Instrumentation, along with faculty members  Dr. Ilango K. , Ms. Jayasree P. R. and Mr. Bharat K. R. from the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Amritapuri campus spent August 12th and 13th, 2016, as a part of co-curricular activity in Munnar and  Idukki.

Workshop on Amrita Online Labs Held at Rural Schools in Andhra Pradesh

Amrita CREATE conducted workshops on Online Labs in Andhra Pradesh on 23rd and 24th of June, 2016. More than hundred teachers from rural schools were trained during these two days.

Amrita RITE- Inclusive Education Model Presented at the Vatican Conference on Children and Sustainable Development

Prof. Prema Nedungadi of Amrita CREATE, was an invited speaker at the Vatican conference on “Children and Sustainable Development: Challenge for Education”, held November 13-15, 2015 at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.  She presented Amrita University's Amrita RITE (Rural India Tablet enhanced Education) model that was inspired and guided by Chancellor Amma’s vision to provide both ‘education for making a living’ and ‘education for life’ skills.

Frontiers in Education, sponsored by IEEE Education Society, is one of the oldest and most prestigious Education conferences focusing on educational innovations. For the third year in a row, a research paper from AmritaCREATE was presented here. Rema Menon presented the paper "New Methodology to Differentiate Instructional Strategies for ESL Learners in the Indian Context". The paper was authored by Rema Menon and Prema Nedungadi, AmritaCREATE.

Launch of A-VIEW Classes- A Milestone in the Journey of AmritaRITE

Keeping with the theme of Independence Day "Aazad Bharat, Saakshar Gaon", another initiative of AmritaCREATE was launched on August 16th. The initiative has been launched to bring specialized tutoring, via Amrita Virtual Interactive e-Learning World (A-VIEW), to children in remote areas where there is limited internet connectivity.

Amrita Conducts Programs on Impact Analysis of Teaching Methodology, Health, Social Awareness at the Tribal Settlement, Idukki

The second year MSW students of the department of Social Work, Coimbatore campus along with Ryerson University students from Canada stayed at the tribal settlement of Komalikudi in Idukki District of Kerala from 6th to 13th August 2015 as part of the Live-in-LabsTM program.

Amrita RITE Adult Literacy Program

Nine students from the department of Social Work, Amrita University, Coimbatore campus and Ryerson University from Toronto, Canada used AmritaCreate's Immersion Learning program to teach English to the adults and village children at Idduki District of Kerala as part of Amrita’s Live-in-LabsTM program. Amrita CREATE's literacy software was used to teach adult literacy.

Amrita CREATE Launches Tree Plantation Drive

Respect for nature was a recurrent theme for the nine internship students from Amrita University’s Live-In-Labs program- four from Ryerson University, Toronto, and five from the department of Social Work, Amrita University, Coimbatore campus, as they planned their education-related internship in Idukki, Kerala, guided by AmritaCREATE. 

Amrita CREATE Conducts Alcohol Awareness Program

The Awareness Ambassador Program was attended by 180 students at Bison Valley School in Komalikkudi, Idukki on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The Awareness Ambassador Program, inspired and guided by Chancellor Amma, is a step taken by AmritaCREATE to fight against the evils of alcoholism and other addictive substances by bringing awareness education to children and youth in villages.

​A workshop on Online Labs ​(OLabs​) was conducted at Mangalam College of Engineering, Ettumanoor, Kottayam as a part of WAMPS 2015, a national workshop on Applied Mathematics and Physical Science, on 22 May 2015 for teachers and B.E​d. students.

eLiteracy and Health Awareness for Tribal Children

During Kozhikode program, Amma distributed Amrita University’s certificates to 17 tribal children from Attapadi for completing the eLiteracy & Health Awareness course. The tablet computers were taken to their doorsteps and classes timed after their working hours.

A Workshop on Amrita Online Labs at PGM School Pandalam

A workshop for the Amrita Online Labs project (OLabs) was held at PGM Boys and Girls’ High School, Pandalam, Kerala on the 6th February 2015. Thirty-nine Science teachers from the school participated and had a unique opportunity to experience the virtual labs through a demonstration organized by Amrita CREATE.
