Forum for Aspiring Computer Engineers (FACE)

The Forum for Aspiring Computer Engineers (FACE) is a student-led technical community at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru. Established with the vision of nurturing innovation, collaboration, and continuous technical growth, FACE provides a dynamic platform where students explore computing beyond the traditional classroom environment.

The club promotes a culture of hands-on experimentation, peer learning, and problem-solving. By encouraging students to conceptualize, build, and deploy real-world solutions, FACE aims to cultivate technically competent and industry-ready engineers.

Through events and collaborative initiatives, members gain exposure to professional networks that support career readiness and long-term development.

Major Events & Achievements1

FACE

Python + IoT Workshop

FACE successfully conducted a full-day Python + IoT Workshop, engaging over 100 students in an immersive, hands-on learning experience.

The workshop covered:

  • Python programming fundamentals
  • IoT system design principles
  • ESP32 microcontroller programming
  • Integration with ultrasonic sensors and servo motors

Participants built working prototypes, bridging software programming with hardware interfacing.

CTF Challenge – KeyQuest

One of the signature events, KeyQuest, was a Capture-The-Flag (CTF) style cybersecurity challenge hosted on a custom-developed platform.

Participants explored:

  • Cryptography
  • Steganography
  • Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)
  • Logical and analytical problem-solving

The challenge encouraged students to think critically, work under time constraints, and apply technical knowledge in competitive scenarios – successfully inspiring the next generation of problem-solvers and engineers.

Aarohan Outreach Initiatives

On behalf of FACE, two flagship events were organized during Aarohan (October) for students from Grades 8 to 12, aimed at fostering early interest in engineering and computational thinking.
