Abstract : This paper proposes a method to regulate the rotational speed of an induction motor (IM) using model predictive direct torque control (MPDTC) and Fuzzy Gain Scheduling of PI controller (FGS-PI). MPDTC uses a cost function instead of standard hysteresis based Direct torque control (DTC). The PI controller proportional and integral gain components are computed utilising the fuzzy logic gain scheduling technique. By connecting the IM to the internet, the motor becomes smart and in this way the speed of the motor can be changed from anywhere in the world.
