Abstract : This paper analyses the Steer-By-Wire (SBW) system with feedback, consisting of integral modules. It illustrates a closed loop working model, where the driver's desired steering angle is sensed and transferred to the pinion and from the pinion to the steering wheel. A cascade PI control algorithm is used for position control of the BLDC motor. The system is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink platform, to investigate the relationship between steering wheel motion and motor rotational speed, as well as the reduction of disturbances and dependable force feedback transmission to the driver steering. Also, a low-cost hardware demonstration is designed using ESP32 micro-controller.
