ABOUT

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India, established to systematically foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up development in higher educational institutions.

The council functions as a platform to:

Encourage students and faculty to generate innovative ideas.
Organize workshops, hackathons, seminars, and innovation-driven activities.
Promote design thinking, prototype development, and entrepreneurial skills.
Nurture pre-incubation and incubation support for potential start-ups.
Strengthen collaboration with industry experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

By integrating academic learning with real-world problem solving, the IIC helps build a vibrant innovation ecosystem within the institution and empowers young minds to become future innovators and entrepreneurs.

OBJECTIVES

To foster a culture of innovation and creativity among students and faculty by encouraging ideation, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

To promote entrepreneurship and startup development through workshops, mentoring sessions, and institutional support for early-stage ideas.

To strengthen industry–academia relationships and provide exposure to emerging technologies, market needs, and innovation practices.

To facilitate skill development and capacity building in areas such as design thinking, prototyping, innovation management, and business development.

To integrate innovation and research activities into the academic ecosystem by supporting project-based learning and innovation-driven initiatives.

To identify, nurture, and support student innovators by providing platforms for showcasing projects, participating in national innovation programs, and availing funding opportunities.

To encourage social and community-oriented innovations that address local and societal challenges through sustainable and impactful solutions.

To monitor and evaluate innovation performance within the institution through periodic assessments, activity mapping, and documentation of outcomes.

It gives me immense pleasure to share this message as the President of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). Project Expo & Poster Presentation

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri Campus in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC ) and Amrita School of Computing, Amritapuri, successfully hosted the Project Expo and Poster Presentation on “ The Triple Nexus: Powering SDGs with AI & Cyber Resilience ” on 5th December 2025 at the University Main building.
