The B Factor (Season 1) is a statewide intercollegiate business quiz championship designed to test knowledge across business, technology, economy, innovation, and global developments. The competition brings together undergraduate students from diverse disciplines to compete in a structured, multi-stage format culminating in a televised Grand Finale.

The competition is organised by Amrita School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in association with International Quizzing Association (IQA – Asia) as our Knowledge Partner and Amrita TV as our Media Partner.

The quiz explores contemporary developments shaping the modern world — including artificial intelligence, startups, fintech, global markets, sustainability, digital transformation, leadership, and industry shifts.

The sub-topics include, but not limited to: AI, startups, fintech, global economy, innovation, corporate strategy, emerging industries, Market trends, entrepreneurship, case-based scenarios, corporate history, leadership stories, economic awareness, technology disruptions, Digital transformation, Sustainability, Geopolitics & economy, Data & decision-making, Industry shifts

Who can participate

The competition is open to all undergraduate students across disciplines — including engineering, commerce, arts, science, management, and allied fields.

Students with curiosity about business, innovation, global trends, and emerging technologies will find the quiz particularly engaging.

The International Quizzing Association (IQA) is a global organization dedicated to promoting, organizing, and standardizing quizzing—a popular mind sport. Established to unite quizzers worldwide through high-quality quizzes, IQA also supports the creation and development of national quiz organizations. Its flagship event, the World Quizzing Championships, has been held annually since 2003, determining the world champion in quizzing.

competition structure

The B Factor is conducted in multiple stages across Kerala, designed to progressively identify the most skilled and strategic teams.

Curtain Raiser Quizzes (Online)

  • Open to anyone
  • Conducted online as short quiz rounds
  • Multiple opportunities to participate and get familiar with the format

Stage 1: Zonal Prelims (Written Round)

  • Conducted at a designated venue in each zone (South, Central, North Kerala)
  • Open to registered college teams
  • Teams compete in a written prelim round
  • Top 8 teams from each zone qualify for the next stage

Stage 2: Zonal Quarter Finals (On-Stage Rounds)

  • The 8 shortlisted teams compete in two quarter final rounds (4 teams per round)
  • Each round is conducted as a live, on-stage quiz
  • From each quarter final, top 2 teams qualify
  • Total qualifiers per zone: 4 teams
  • Across all three zones, 12 teams advance to the semifinals

Stage 3: Semi-finals (Amrita TV Studio, Kochi)

  • Conducted at the Amrita TV Studio, Kochi
  • The 12 teams are divided into 4 semifinal rounds (4 teams per round)
  • Top team from each semi-final qualifies
  • Total finalists: 4 teams

Stage 4: Grand Finale (Amrita TV Studio, Kochi)

  • A high-stakes, televised championship round
  • Determines the Champion, Runner-up, and Finalist 1 and Finalist 2

eligibility & Rules

  • Team size: Each team must consist of two students from the same college.
  • IQA Quiz Player Registration
  • IQA Quiz Player Registration is mandatory to participate in this championship.
    If you are not yet registered as a player, click here to register. The registration fee is ₹177, valid for one year.

IQA Asia had launched the Quiz Player Registration, offering students a unique opportunity to formally enter the world of gamified learning with an international player recognition.

Travel & Accommodation

Accommodation for the 32 semi-finalists will be arranged by us in Ernakulam. Further details will be communicated later.

Conveyance between the venues will also be arranged by us.

Basic Rules

  • Qualification to the State Finals is based on district-level performance
  • Organisers reserve the right to modify schedules or formats if required
  • Decisions of the quiz masters and organisers are final
  • Participants must adhere to all event rules and instructions
  • Any misconduct may lead to disqualification

Snehaj Srinivas

Popularly known as the Quiz Man of Kerala, Snehaj Srinivas is known as the pioneer in Gamification of Knowledge, and Skills and Strategies for the last 26 years.

Founder of the First Professional Quiz Firm in Kerala, he conceptualized and designed the first exclusive Quiz workshops in South India titled Q Positive and has done more than 2000 Quizzes and workshops till date, with over one lakh students across the globe being part of it.
