Mr. Prabodha Acharya 

Mr. Prabodha Acharya has served as Group Chief Sustainability Officer at JSW Group since September 2019, working closely with CEOs and senior leaders to drive ESG embedding across JSW’s diverse businesses, including steel, energy, infrastructure, cement, and paints. With nearly three decades of experience in environmental management, climate change strategy, and ESG policy, he is instrumental in shaping JSW’s sustainability roadmap and stakeholder credibility. 

Before joining JSW, Mr. Acharya held leadership roles in sustainability and assurance at Aditya Birla Group and Lloyd’s Register UK, and began his career at SAIL handling environmental issues across the steel and mining sectors. He holds an M.Tech in Environmental Engineering and is a registered IRCA lead assessor and EPD verifier under international sustainability systems. 

He chairs and participates in multiple industry bodies—including climate and environmental committees at WBCSD, Worldsteel, WMBC, Indian Steel Association, CII, FICCI, ICC, ASSOCHAM—providing thought leadership and advocacy on sustainable industrial transformation. In recognition of his visionary leadership, he was inducted into the Board Stewardship Hall of Fame at the India Board Conclave in April 2025. 

Under his stewardship, JSW’s SEED (Sustainable Energy Environment & Decarbonization) initiative has been recognized at COP28 for driving decarbonization in heavy-emitting sectors, with Acharya representing the company on the global stage.
