Bio

Arun K. Raj is currently working as Assistant Professor (Research Track) in the Centre for Excellence in Computational Engineering & Networking, Amrita School of Computing, Coimbatore, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, India, w.e.f. August 01, 2022. His work primarily involves conducting research, bringing academic/industry collaborations, and mentoring graduate students on novel problems in his domain expertise.

He worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar (May 2021 – May 2022) at the University of California, USA, on a project funded by National Science Federation (NSF), USA. Also, he worked as an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow (Nov. 2020 – April 2021) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, on a project funded by the Government of India. During his Ph.D. tenure (2015-2020) at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, he successfully acquired two funding grants; one as a Principal Investigator (PI) funded by the Government of Kerala, and the other as a research assistant funded by King Khalid University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Apart from this, he participated in three government (DST-SERB, Directorate of Environment and Climate change, Government of Kerala, and Institution of Engineers) and industry-funded projects (small-scale industry in Kerala) related to heat transfer, fluid flow and solar-thermal systems. The successful completion of these projects broadened his research field in the design and optimization of thermal systems. It allowed him to lead the research activities carried out at the Solar Energy Centre group at NIT Calicut, in close collaboration with governmental and private organizations in India. He has a strong track record of research dissemination, and the outputs in the last four years are
