Dr. P. Arun Mozhi Devan has been serving as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, since December 2025. He holds the status of Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Engineering Council UK and is an active member of IEEE and IET.
He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, in 2022. He received his M.E. (Control and Instrumentation Engineering) from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, in 2016, his B.E. (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering) from Muthayammal Engineering College, Tamil Nadu, in 2014, and his. Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Research, Innovation, and Commercialisation at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS from October 2022 to December 2025. Earlier,
he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College from 2016 to 2018.
Dr. Arun’s research interests lie in control systems, with particular emphasis on fractional-order control, advanced PID and predictive control, nonlinear and multivariable process control, process modelling and optimization, wireless monitoring and networked control systems, and autonomous robotic and UAV control systems. His research has resulted in 16+ SCI journal publications, multiple conference papers, two international books, and a book chapter, with contributions appearing in leading journals. He has also received several international innovation awards, including recognitions from the Malaysia Technology Expo and the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK).
In addition to research, he is actively involved in industry-oriented training, consultancy, and technology development, particularly in industrial automation, wireless control networks, intelligent sensing, and robotics. He regularly serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals and is committed to outcome-based engineering education, mentoring students in both research and applied engineering problem-solving.
