Ms. Pooja Gowda is an Assistant Professor (OC) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Amrita School of Computing, Bengaluru Campus. She holds an M.Sc. in Computing Science from the University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands l, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the domain of computational medicine.
Her research involves application of data science and machine learning to biomedical challenges such as cancer detection via 3D PET imaging and modeling therapeutic responses. She has also applied artificial intelligence techniques in interdisciplinary projects bridging computing, healthcare, and materials science.
She actively supports student and professional development by organizing workshops and speaker series focused on artificial intelligence, data science, UX design, and career growth in technology.
She has taught courses such as Advanced Data Visualization and Analytics to Postgraduate students, and Software Engineering, Operating Systems, and Principles of Artificial Intelligence to undergraduate students. She also mentors students on AI/ML and software systems projects.
As the Live-in-Lab® Coordinator, she oversees Amrita’s credit-based program in which students live and work in rural “labs” to co-design sustainable, community-driven solutions.
