  • ⁠B.Pharm (with strong analytical lab experience)

  • ⁠B.Sc. Chemistry (needs additional hands-on experience)

Job Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Analyst to join our research facility at Amrita School of Ayurveda.

  • The successful candidate will perform high-precision analysis of herbal raw materials and finished Ayurvedic formulations and will be responsible for operating advanced instrumentation, including ICP-MS and HPTLC , ensuring all testing meets international quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  •  ICP-MS Operations: Quantify heavy metals (Lead, Arsenic, Mercury, Cadmium) in complex Ayurvedic matrices; perform sample digestion using microwave systems.

  • HPTLC Analysis: Develop and validate methods for finger-printing, identification of markers, and quantification of active constituents in herbal extracts.

  • General Chemical Testing: Conduct physico-chemical analysis 

  • Method Validation: Assist in the validation of analytical methods in compliance with Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India (API) and NABL guidelines.

  • Maintain rigorous documentation of all raw data, chromatograms, and calculation sheets.

  • Participate in Proficiency Testing (PT) and Inter-Laboratory Comparisons (ILC). 

  • Ensure daily/periodic calibration of analytical balances, pipettes, and high-end instruments.

  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols

  • Analyze complex datasets and interpret chromatographic/spectroscopic results. 

  • Prepare comprehensive Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and research reports. 

  • Troubleshoot instrumental errors and coordinate with service engineers for maintenance.

Desirable

  • Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of NABL policies and ISO 17025:2017 requirements.

Experience

  • Working specifically with Ayurvedic dosage forms

  • Experience in sample preparation techniques for "difficult" organic matrices.
