Abstract : Our study aims to develop a framework to understand the influence of tourists'social, economic and environmental orientations in shaping their slow experiences in different areas, such as attractions, food, culture, accommodation and transport, subject to the contingent effects of authenticity, novelty seeking and materialism. Data were gathered from tourists visiting prominent cities in India (N = 277) and the Middle East (N = 252). The study used ADANCO 2.3 to analyze the final responses using structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Our study suggests that social, economic and environmental orientations significantly enhance slow attraction, food, culture, accommodation and tourists’ slow travel experiences. Furthermore, significant contingent effects were observed for authenticity, novelty-seeking and materialism on certain direct effects. The implications for managers are also discussed.
