Faridabad, February 19, 2026: The Department of Public Policy, School of Social & Behavioural Sciences at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Faridabad, organized an engaging and impactful workshop on Gender Violence, Sexual Harassment & Student Conduct, bringing together more than 600 students and 50 faculty and staff members from Amrita University, Amrita College of Medicine, and Amrita Hospital, Faridabad.

The interactive session was led by Ms. Claire Moleon (Vidya), Legal Advisor at the School of Social and Behavioural Sciences and Manager for International Relations & Gender Policy under the UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality. She provided participants with a clear understanding of the legal framework, institutional safeguards, and individual responsibilities related to gender-based violence and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) guidelines.

Adding a strong practical dimension, Mr. Varunanvelu V. S., Assistant Professor (SSBS), facilitated role-plays and real-life scenarios that helped attendees identify subtle forms of harassment, understand power dynamics, and navigate appropriate reporting mechanisms.

Mrs. Sujatha Gopi, Head of Campus Housing and Chair of the POSH Committee, reaffirmed the institution’s firm commitment to maintaining safe and accountable campus systems, emphasizing proactive prevention and responsive support structures.

The workshop significantly strengthened shared awareness and collective responsibility among the Amrita Faridabad campus community, reinforcing the university’s ongoing efforts to nurture a culture rooted in dignity, equality, and safety.
