Through coding sessions, collaborative projects, workshops, and community-driven events, the club bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world software development practices.

Established with the vision of fostering a strong open-source culture, the club encourages students to explore, contribute, and innovate using open technologies.
Affiliated with the global open-source ecosystem, AmFOSS provides a platform for students to enhance their technical skills, collaborate on impactful projects, and participate in international open-source programs.

The inauguration of AMLS – Amrita Literary Society was held on 8th October 2025, featuring various literary events such as Elocution, Essay Writing, Poem Recitation, Slogan Chanting, and Thirukkural Chanting. A total of 12 students participated in the event, showcasing their talents in multiple languages, including Tamil, English, Malayalam, and Telugu.
The Principal encouraged and appreciated each student’s performance with enthusiastic and motivating words. During the event, the students also released the magazine titled “Amritadhara.”

The debate event commenced January 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Amriteshwari Hall. The Principal delivered a special talk highlighting the significance of the debate.
The discussion centered on the thought-provoking topic: “What do Teachers and Students Want from Each Other: Love or Knowledge?” Participants were divided into two teams (three students per side), with one team supporting Love and the other supporting Knowledge.
Students presented their arguments with clarity, emotional depth, and logical reasoning in Tamil. The debate encouraged active participation, respectful rebuttals, and audience engagement, making the session highly interactive. Faculty judges evaluated the participants on content, fluency, confidence, and relevance. The session concluded with valuable feedback from the judges, emphasizing the importance of balancing both love and knowledge in education.

The event “Just a Minute – With a Twist” was conducted February 7, 2026 from 02:00 PM to 04:30 PM at Amriteshwari Hall. The session began with a brief introduction about the event rules and objectives.
Participants were given random topics and were asked to speak for one minute. Sudden twists such as topic changes, inclusion of random words, and emotion-based instructions (happy, angry, calm, etc.) were introduced during the speech to test spontaneity and adaptability. Students showcased their speaking talents confidently in Tamil, Malayalam, English, Telugu, and Hindi.
The event was lively, interactive, and entertaining. Faculty members and students actively observed and encouraged the participants.

The International Women’s Day Celebration was held on 06th March 2026 at Amriteshwari Hall, beginning with an inaugural session and welcome address. The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including a Women’s Day Quiz, Women’s Day Photography Challenge, “Stereotype Swap” thematic activity, Best Dressed (Cultural Representation), cultural performances, a special speech titled Empowered to Give, Inspire to Gain, and a presentation on Women Self-Defense & Safety Awareness, followed by certificate distribution.
The highlight of the celebration was the motivational address by Mrs. Lakshmi Karthikeyan, who spoke on resilience, financial independence, and community service, while the self-defense session offered practical insights into personal safety and confidence-building strategies. The program concluded with certificate distribution and a vote of thanks, making the celebration vibrant, engaging, and meaningful.
