Throughout the year, the department is busy with a variety of initiatives to promote Ancient Indian art and culture. It always encourages actions taken through the practical method of selfless service and sadhana embedded in Amma’s educational philosophy to raise oneself into the higher levels of emotional intelligence.
Malayalam poetry writing and recitation competitions, Hindustani vocal music awareness initiatives, yoga and meditation techniques, Teachers Day festivities, and Women’s Day celebrations are only a few of the annual events. The following list includes some of the notable campus events that have taken place to date.
Expert talk on India’s Knowledge System (IKS) – Aspects of Indian Logic: Pramanas
The Expert Talk on India’s Knowledge System (IKS) programme was arranged for December 14, 2021 for the research scholars. A professional lecture titled “Aspects of Indian Logic: Pramanas” was given. The resource person was Dr. Jayaram Mahadevan, Director of the Division of Textual Research in Yoga at Indica Academy. The guests were welcomed by Sri. Jyothishmayi V of the department of Cultural Education and India Studies, and Shri. Ramachandra gave the vote of thanks.
Inauguration of 2021 Academic Activities and 19th Annual Series of Vidhyamritam Extramural Lectures
The 19th Annual Series of Vidhyamritam Extramural Plays and the Inauguration of Academic Activities for 2021 took place in the college auditorium on September 29, 2021. The Guest of Honor was introduced by Sri. N R Mohanan, Head of the CIR Department. The students were addressed by Sri. Dinesh P. Thampi, Vice President and Delivery Center Head, TCS (Kerala). Vice Principal of the Amrita School of Medicine in Kochi, Dr. Vijal Marwaha, gave the keynote address at this event. Undergraduates and postgraduates were given their diplomas.
Kerala Piravi and Malayalam Day Celebration
The first day of November 2021 saw a celebration on the campus for Kerala Piravi and Malayalam Day. The event was opened by Brahmachari Sumedhamrutha Chaithanya, the acharya of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s Koyilandi Center. The college’s Malayalam Faculty, Shri Chandran Perumudiyur, delivered the message for Malayalam Day. At the event, winners of the poetry recitation competition held in conjunction with Malayalam Day also performed their works.
