The Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, will organize a Five Days Faculty Development Program on Green Technology and Sustainability Engineering, sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, from July 5-9, 2021.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was started in the year 1994. The department offers B.Tech. program in Mechanical Engineering, M.Tech. programs in Engineering Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Automotive Engineering with Ph.D. program in all the specializations. The department has competent and committed faculty members drawn from industry, practicing professionals and academicians to enhance the delivery of academic programs. The department has evolved a comprehensive student-centric learning approach, designed to add significant value to the learner's understanding in an integrated manner.

Research

The department has excellent state of the art experimental and computational facilities which facilitate the teacher and the students to practice and learn to compete. Interdisciplinary research is very common in the department that provides wide opportunity to attract the industries and government organizations to do collaborative projects as well. Publication of the research results as papers in the international journals and conferences by the staff and students of the department substantiate the excellence of their work.

ATAL Academy

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) through its newly established AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy have started unique faculty development programs in various thrust areas of modern technology. The objective of ATAL Academy is to plan and help in imparting quality technical education in the country and to support technical institutions in fostering research, innovation and entrepreneurship through training in various emerging areas.
