Talk Title: Resilience from the South: Climate, Water, and the Politics of Survival
Dr. Jorge Celi is an ecologist and professor at Ikiam Amazon Regional University in Ecuador, where he directs the UNESCO Chair for Tropical Freshwater Management. His work focuses on ecohydrology, climate resilience, and the sustainable management of tropical ecosystems,integrating nature-based solutions and ancestral water technologies. Jorge leads interdisciplinary research with local and international partners and has published widely on hydrology, biogeochemistry, and conservation. He is a member of Ecuador’s National Coalition for Water Security, serves on the Board of Fundación EcoCiencia, and participates in multiple networks focused on water governance and sustainability in the Global South.
