Dr. Kesavan T R 

Dr. T.R. Kesavan is Director and Group President – Corporate Relations & Alliances at TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited), one of the world’s leading tractor manufacturers. With over four decades of experience in the vehicle and agricultural machinery sectors, Dr. Kesavan has played a pivotal role in advancing farm mechanization and promoting sustainable agricultural practices across India and beyond. 

Joining TAFE in 1994 as the Sr. VP (Marketing and Product Strategy), Dr. Kesavan has since held a series of senior leadership positions, culminating in his appointment as Group President in 2019 and Director in 2025. His strategic vision has significantly expanded TAFE’s market reach through innovative product development, global alliances, and enhanced customer value propositions. 

An advocate of integrating advanced technologies such as AI, drones, and hydroponics into farming, Dr. Kesavan is a recognized thought leader in agri-tech. His initiatives have focused on increasing farmer income and promoting environmentally friendly practices. 

Dr. Kesavan has also served as President of the Tractor Manufacturers Association of India and Chairman of FICCI’s National Agriculture Council, contributing to national policy discussions on agriculture and technology. 

His earlier roles include leadership positions at BAC Muscat and TENGL (a Caterpillar and L&T joint venture), where he managed large-scale franchise and engineering operations across construction and mining sectors. A mechanical engineering graduate and gold medalist from the University of Madras, he has also pursued management studies at the University of Michigan.
