Bio

Dr. Gowri P. Nair is currently working as an Assistant Professor (On Contract) at the School of Artificial Intelligence at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.

Dr. Gowri P. Nair, BAMS (Reg. No: 24519) is a dedicated and compassionate Ayurvedic physician committed to delivering exceptional patient care while contributing to the advancement of evidence-based traditional medicine. She has recently joined Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, where she continues to expand her expertise in integrative healthcare and Ayurvedic research.

She earned her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Vishnu Ayurveda College, Shornur (2015–2022), gaining extensive clinical experience through internships at reputed institutions, including the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Goa; the National Ayurveda Research Institute of Panchakarma, Thrissur; and Government Ayurveda Hospital, Ayoor. Her training encompassed core Ayurvedic procedures such as Jalukavacharanam, Siravyadha, Panchakarma, and Shalakya therapies, as well as surgical postings at Government District Hospital, Wadakkanchery.

Previously, Dr. Gowri worked at a women’s health clinic in New Delhi, where she focused on holistic care, preventive health strategies, and patient-centered wellness programs. She is currently pursuing an Ayurveda Dietician Course at the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Goa (2024–2025), enhancing her knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition for disease prevention and management.

Her research interests center on integrating Ayurvedic principles with modern scientific approaches, particularly in women’s health, metabolic disorders, and personalized Prakriti-based interventions. She is passionate about creating a strong evidence base for Ayurveda through rigorous clinical studies, standardization, and interdisciplinary collaborations, aiming for its wider global acceptance.

Research Interest

Gowri’s primary research interest lies in exploring the integration of traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern scientific approaches to advance preventive, promotive, and therapeutic healthcare. I am particularly interested in the evidence-based validation of Ayurvedic formulations, treatment protocols, and lifestyle interventions for chronic and lifestyle-related disorders such as metabolic syndrome, musculoskeletal diseases, and stress-related conditions.
