Aswathi has a Masters in History and PGDJ in Mass Communication and Journalism. She has worked as Senior Sub-editor and Program Producer at the entertainment desk of Reporter Channel. She has also lent her voice for the news segment and produced programs for the channel.
Prior to joining Amrita, Aswathi started her career as a journalist in the year 2007 at Mathrubhumi. Her articles were published under the pen name Aswathikrishna. She has also done PR work for events organized by Mathrubhumi. Her area of specialization is Film Journalism. She has done Film exclusives for many popular publications and has interviewed famous film personalities like Resul Pookutty, A.R Rehman, Ranbir Kapoor, Allu Arujun, Mammooty, Mohan Lal, Surya and Tamanna to name a few. For her work in Film Journalism, Aswathi has received the A.T Ummer Award, Jey-cey Foundation Award, MTV Award and Inspire Award between 2009 and 2010.
