Dr. Maninder S. Dhaliwal is a Pediatric Intensivist and Pediatric Respiratory Medicine specialist with over two decades of academic and clinical experience across government, private, corporate, and teaching institutions. He heads the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Pulmonology services at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, one of India’s largest tertiary care academic medical centres.
He completed his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, followed by MD Pediatrics from KMC Mangalore. He holds a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (IAP–ISCCM) from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, a Diploma in Allergy and Asthma from Christian Medical College, Vellore, and is an ERS Diplomat in Pediatric Respiratory Medicine.
Dr. Dhaliwal currently serves as President, Delhi IAP State (2024–2025) PICU Chapter; Treasurer, National PICU Chapter (2026–2028); and Secretary, PediSTARS India (2024–2026). He is associated with key national and international bodies, including the European Respiratory Society (ERS), PANGEA UK, PediSTARS and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a certified faculty and instructor for PFCCS, IAP-PALS, BPICC, APICC, STEP and SIMULATION-based training programs. He previously played a major role in establishing and leading the tertiary-care PICU at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurgaon (2011–2022).
His clinical interests include pediatric respiratory disorders, asthma (acute and chronic), bronchoscopy, sleep-disordered breathing, advanced pediatric critical care, CRRT, acute liver failure, neuro-PICU, transplant critical care, and healthcare quality and safety. He has led several simulation-based safety initiatives, training modules and quality improvement programs.
Dr. Dhaliwal has authored publications and book chapters and is a regular speaker at national and international conferences, workshops and academic forums. His professional vision emphasizes simulation-based learning, patient safety, and research-driven advancements in pediatric intensive care and respiratory medicine.
