Maj Gen(Dr) Rajesh Verma has joined Amrita Hospital after 38 years of service in Indian Armed Forces ( Army Medical Corps) during which he held appointments of Professor & Head ( Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology) at prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and Professor(Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology) at command Hospital Eastern Command Kolkata, Command Hospital Central Command Lucknow, Army Hospital( Research & Referral) New Delhi and Command Hospital Western Command, Chandimandir. At all these Institutes He had Proven track record of success in diverse roles encompassing clinical practice, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research work and administrative leadership. He has guided and supervised a large number of Post Graduates in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy at Pune & Lucknow. A large number of scientific papers based on these thesis have been published in various Dermatology Journals.
He is a keen researcher and has been Principal worker / Co- worker in many research projects under aegis of Armed Forces Medical Research Committee ( AFMRC) of Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services ( DGAFMS)

His areas of interest and special expertise includes Clinical Dermatology including Psoriasis, Bullous disorders like Pemphigus and Pemphigoid, Drug eruptions, Auto immune Skin Disorders, Eczemas, contact dermatitis, Pruritus, Psycho Dermatology, Leprosy & Sexually Transmitted Diseases, aesthetic Dermatology & Dermatosurgery
He is recipient of commendation cards from Chief of Army Staff and Eastern Army Commander for exemplary service in the Armed Forces, as well as the ‘Teacher Par Excellence’ award from the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL) for outstanding contributions to the academic field.
He is the author of the popular text book titled “ Emergencies in Dermatology”. He has published more than 50 scientific research papers in indexed journals, has contributed 15 chapters in various Textbooks of Dermatology and has delivered More than 100, invited lectures, presentations, panel discussions (as moderator & panelist) at various National & State level conferences.
