Bio

Dr. Shobana K. joined Amrita Vishwa Vidhyapeetham in 2010. She has completed her M. A. from Holy Cross College, Trichy, and M. Phil. from St. Joseph College, Trichy. She has a total of 13 years of teaching experience, teaching language and literature to students of different streams at UG and PG levels. She has also done on-line teaching of English to Japanese and Korean students. She conducts motivation and guidance programs for school teachers. She has served as a resource person on English Language Training for the Tamil Nadu Police Personnel. She has also done some parenting training programs for parents of school children. Her areas of specialization and interest are Indian Writing in English and Children’s Literature. She is currently pursuing her PhD on Children’s Literature at Bharathiar University. She is also interested in classical and modern Tamil Literature.

  • Attended Intersections: International Conference on Children’s Literature conducted by the Post Graduate & Research Department of English, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur on 19th & 20th October 2015.
  • Attended a National Level Workshop on Research Methodology and Literary Criticism. Conducted by the Dept. Of English, Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Coimbatore on 7th Feb, 2015.
