Academic Teaching

As formerly Dean of Policy Research at CSIR-NIScPR and Chairman of the Academic Advisory Board of AcSIR at NIScPR. Have been involved in various ways in strengthening the research and PhD programme. Have been thesis supervisor of various universities and have been involved in various ways in their doctoral programmes. Have developed and had taught two courses.at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR): Science Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP), and Intellectual Property Rights in the Context of Research, Innovation and development. Both are not text book courses and are taught in a few reputed universities across the world. Pedagogy covers lecture notes, tutorials, readings, presentations by students. I have also developed a Foundation course on Intellectual Property along with Prof Saradindu Bhadhuri in the Centre for Science Policy, Jawaharlal Nehru University which is taught in doctoral course work.
The courses have cross-disciplinary perspective and draws from historical context to its contemporary relevance in the knowledge-based economy. The strong focus is on drawing attention to key policies that have emerged globally and in India that address research, innovation and development aspects, regulation and governance issues among others. The students are exposed to key issues and debates surrounding STIP such as sustainable and inclusive development, challenges and new approaches/models. IPR course also broadly exposes the students to these issues to situate the debate, challenges and opportunities of intellectual property in the context of newer provisions, new technologies; creation and protection of knowledge assets for startups, MSME, etc. Four Ph D. thesis have been awarded under my supervision.
