Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham co-hosted the 3rd edition of Elsevier’s national conclave, ‘Tomorrow Today in Research India 2025’, at its Coimbatore Campus on 13 November 2025. Over 60+ vice-chancellors, directors, deans, and heads from various universities across India attended the thought-provoking event that explored how institutions can drive sustainability, impact, and global competitiveness through research. With a focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this conclave brought together academic leaders, policymakers, and research professionals to discuss strategies for aligning research with societal priorities while strengthening institutional rankings and reputation.

Dr. Jingwen Mu, Director of Institutional Research & Strategic Planning at Hong Kong Baptist University, as the international keynote speaker, shared her insights on how universities can leverage data and research intelligence to advance the SDGs. Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, addressed the conclave on the theme, ‘Amrita’s Research Journey: From Rankings to SDG Impact’. She outlined the research strategies and best practices of the university as an aspirational example for other institutions. Dr. Maneesha also showcased the Live-in-Labs experiential program, conceptualized by Chancellor AMMA, as also highlighted its wide-ranging impact in terms of both societal and research outcomes. Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean-Academics, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, inaugurated the event and also delivered the opening remarks. Mr. Kavit Yagnik, Regional Director, Elsevier, welcomed the gathering. The event also hosted 2 panel discussions to exchange ideas, address challenges, and shape the future of sustainable research. An exclusive Elsevier SciVal Roadmap 2025 presentation was also part of the deliberations. Universities that participated included IIT Madras, IIT Patna, NIT Trichy, Manipal, VIT, SRM, SASTRA, Christ, ICFAI, OP Jindal Global, Satyabhama, Kalasalingam, Sri Ramachandra, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan, Centurion, Symbiosis, Vels, Karunya, Karpagam, Vinayaka Mission, Avinashilingam, and Indian School of Business. The conclave was coordinated by Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Associate Director-IQAC @ AMRITA, who also showcased AMRITA’s best practices in IQAC in the panel, ‘From Data to Decisions’.
