Sree Sharvesh S S, a final-year B.Tech (CSE – Cyber Security) student from TIFAC-CORE in Cyber Security, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, has achieved remarkable international recognition through a series of prestigious, fully funded research internships facilitated by the Amrita Centre for International Programs (ACIP).
In an outstanding display of academic excellence and global engagement, Sree Sharvesh was selected from over 500 applicants for a fully funded summer internship at Colorado State University (CSU), USA, where he worked from June to mid-July 2025 under Prof. Ravi Mangal in the TrustLab Research Group. His project, titled “Language-Model-Based Sandbox Emulators for Evaluating Safety in Autonomous AI Systems,” involved developing sandbox environments to assess safety and security risks in AI-enabled autonomous systems, contributing to ongoing research in Formal Methods and Trustworthy AI.
Immediately following his CSU tenure, he undertook another international internship at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) from mid-July to August 2025, under Prof. David Lee of the Tech4Good Lab. His research, titled “Multi-Agent Social Simulation for Human-AI Collaboration,” explored multi-agent systems with simulated social interactions, advancing understanding of human-AI collaboration and behavioral modeling. The internship cohort featured researchers from over ten countries, reflecting the program’s global diversity and interdisciplinary nature.
In September 2025, Sree Sharvesh was also selected as one of fifteen global fellows for the prestigious AI Fellowship at the Pi School of AI, Rome, Italy, and notably, one of only two fellows from India — the youngest among participants from Europe and Asia. His fellowship project, titled “Explainable AI-Based Anomaly Detection System for Automobile Manufacturing,” focused on developing an explainable AI model integrating machine learning, interpretability, and real-world industrial impact.
Reflecting on his experiences, Sree Sharvesh shared, “Each opportunity taught me something new — from rigorous research in trustworthy AI to the importance of collaboration and empathy in global innovation.” He described his time abroad as “deeply transformative,” adding that the exposure to diverse cultures, research methodologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration reshaped his perspective on how technology can be used responsibly and ethically. “Working alongside PhD scholars, researchers, and professionals from across the world helped me understand the true value of teamwork and humility in research. Every discussion — whether technical or philosophical — pushed me to think critically, question assumptions, and communicate ideas clearly. These experiences strengthened my belief that AI research must always be grounded in human values,” he added.
His journey stands as a testament to Amrita’s commitment to fostering international academic exposure, interdisciplinary research, and innovation-driven learning. The university congratulates Sree Sharvesh S S for bringing laurels to Amrita in such a short span and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
