Students from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Bengaluru campus presented the issue of “The Legal Lag between Technology & the Law” on the global stage at the International Youth Summit held in Japan. Their research highlighted the growing disparity between technological advancements and the legal frameworks that govern them, emphasizing the challenges in keeping laws up-to-date with rapid technological developments.
The Amrita-Ritsumeikan International Student Exchange Program (ARISE), a collaboration between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, and Ritsumeikan University, Japan, took place from April 2025 to August 2025, facilitating this unique opportunity for the students to participate in the summit.
Under the guidance of Dr. Pooja Kenchatty, the student team comprising Aaryan Gera, Pusala Pavan Naidu, Dig Vijay Singh, Nikhil, Manvitha, Kosei, Pohsin, and Adarsh N enthusiastically presented on the critical theme of “The Legal Lag between Technology & the Law,” which earned them the prestigious Gold Award at the summit. This victory highlights the students’ academic excellence and reinforces Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s commitment to addressing global challenges through innovation and collaborative research.
The ARISE program, part of the Indo-Japan Exchange initiative, fosters international cooperation in research and development, aiming to bridge geographical and cultural boundaries. The program also emphasizes exchanging cultural and technological knowledge, contributing to the creation of real-world solutions. The initiative focuses on the crucial theme of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and incorporates Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodologies.
