The national techfest of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham concluded as Anokha 2026 with large-scale participation from students, industry, and academia to showcase cutting-edge innovations through technical competitions (i.e., hackathons and workshops), exhibitions, and cultural programming taking place on campus.
The Anokha 2026 flagship event was the CEO Conclave. This event attracted over 15 CEOs and other industry experts from numerous leading companies (i.e., Ashok Leyland, HCL Technologies, TVS Motors, Terracarb, MFAR Carbon, Intrucept Labs, and DLF).
The CEO Conclave consisted of multiple interactive panels and discussions with faculty members, researchers, and students, along with awarding numerous awards to faculty and students from various schools and departments. Anokha also established the Anokha Excellence Award for 2026, which was presented to Dr T.R. Parasuraman, Executive Advisor, Toyota Kirloskar Motors, as an industry leader.
Anokha 2026 coincided with the 23rd Anniversary of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; therefore, during the ceremony, more than 250 awards were also awarded to faculty, students, and staff for outstanding contributions to academic research and service in the last year. Mr Elango Narayanan, Managing Director, Polkart Logistics, served as the Chief Guest for this event.
Over 5,500 students registered for the event as participants from various colleges all over India. Students were also given the opportunity to network with other college students from across the country, as well as Amrita Campus Staff.
A total of over 20 workshops were offered covering a range of technical areas, including Agentic Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things, Gaming, Biomedical Signal Processing, Aerodynamics, Computer Vision, Cyber Security, Geotechnical Engineering, Malware Reverse Engineering, Film Insights, Star Gazing, and Creative Arts. Industry partners contributing to these workshops included: Cisco, Oracle, Sony, Fractal, ARK, and iGene; as well as other prominent educational institutions, such as IIT Madras.
Anokha hosted 29 competitions in categories of Engineering, Computing, Robotics, Drones, Mathematics, Sciences, Visual Media, Architecture, Agriculture, Gaming, and Entrepreneurship, as well as 4 Hackathons, including the AI-verse Hackathon. Over 100 student projects were displayed in the Techfair and Exhibition, as well as 50 Mentor-Mentee Sessions were held, and over 4,200 visitors from industry leaders, policy makers and school students participated in the event.
The top Hardware Entries for Anokha’s Techfair Awards in the Hardware Track were: For LARA-Light Airframe Research Aircraft, followed by BigBoy and Aerion Ensemble with Bio-inspired Multi-morphing Omnidirectional Robot. The top entries for the Software Track were: IRIS – Intelligent Real-world Interactive System – and Growgle, a multidimensional personalised career portal aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, both of which received recognition as the top two projects.
The Rolling Trophy for the Most Technical Department based on overall performance over the events of workshop, competitions and Techfair has been awarded to the Department of Chemical Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus. The total amount of prize allocated to participants exceeded ₹7.5 lakhs.
Cultural programmes conducted under the Anokha Eventide included performances by student clubs Ragasudha (music) and Natyasudha (dance) as well as a proshow by playback singer Naresh Iyer.
The event was conducted under the guidance of faculty convenors Mr M. Sreevalsan and Dr Prashant R. Nair, along with co-convenors Dr Adarsh S. and Mr P. Gopakumar, student heads Mr Adithya Anish Nair, Mr Ramraj S., and Mr Shaun Sunny Joseph, all supported by over 50 faculty members and more than 500 student volunteers.
Anokha 2026 ended with the theme of experiential learning, industry interaction, and innovation by students, focusing on Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s mission of converging technology, research, and relevance. It became an opportunity for students to participate in real-world problems, industry leaders, and the latest technologies in an interdisciplinary academic environment.
