School Outreach Activities with Haksh-E as a part of ALARM 2024

As part of the Amrita Legion for Antimicrobial Resistance Management (ALARM 2024) conference organized by the Amrita School of Biotechnology at Amritapuri Campus, AMMACHI Labs’ AI-powered social robot Haksh-E played a central role in the community outreach campaign. The event extended beyond academic discussions and reached into the local community through an awareness program at the Youth Festival hosted at SVHSS Clappana School from November 18th to 21st, which saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 500 students, 100 parents, and 50 teachers.

Haksh-E was one of the main attractions at the festival. Over several days, the robot engaged with students of all ages, along with their teachers and parents, creating a lively and interactive space for conversations about health. Haksh-E spoke about the importance of hand hygiene in everyday life, explaining why and when hand washing matters, what to use while washing hands, and how this simple habit helps prevent the spread of infections. Children were thrilled to interact with Haksh-E, asking questions with curiosity and delight. Teachers observed that students were more attentive and eager to learn, while parents appreciated how technology was used to make health education both engaging and relevant. Haksh-E’s ability to deliver important messages in a friendly and relatable way left a lasting impression on everyone who interacted with it.

Through this initiative, AMMACHI Labs demonstrated how technology can be a powerful tool for social good, especially in spreading awareness about simple yet essential practices like handwashing. By bringing health education to the grassroots level in such an innovative way, Haksh-E stood out as more than just a technological achievement—it became a symbol of how creativity and compassion can work hand in hand to build healthier communities.
