Team Amrita Racing Makes a Powerful Electric Debut at Formula Bharat 2026

Team Amrita Racing, from the SAEINDIA Collegiate Club of Amrita, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, proudly marked a historic milestone by participating in Formula Bharat 2026 under the Electric Vehicle category, held at Kari Motor Speedway. Competing against teams from leading engineering institutions across the country, the 38-member student team successfully designed and built a fully electric formula-style race car from the ground up, showcasing innovation, strong technical competence, and teamwork.

A major highlight of the team’s debut was winning the prestigious MATLAB–Simulink Award, recognizing excellence in system modeling, simulation accuracy, and control strategy development. The competition provided valuable exposure to electric powertrain integration, battery safety, vehicle dynamics, and real-world engineering problem-solving under strict technical regulations and timelines.

Building on the success and learnings from Formula Bharat 2026, Team Amrita Racing is now preparing for its next challenge, SUPRA SAEINDIA 2026, scheduled for September 2026 at the Buddh International Circuit, Grater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. With renewed confidence and a strong technical foundation, the team aims to further push the boundaries of electric motorsports and represent the institution with distinction on a national platform.
