Abstract : The fourth widespread neurological illness is epilepsy. It is a serious illness affecting millions every year and because of this reason seizure detection has become an important topic in the medical sector. With the help of Electroencephalogram (EEG), the characteristics of brain activity can be studied and can also state the neurological disorder a person is going through. There are many approaches for studying the characteristics of the brain and diagnosing the brain ailment. Traditional detection methods are a cumbersome process and are also prone to error. So, techniques like machine learning, deep learning with pre-processing of the EEG data are widely used. A survey on different approaches presented by various researchers is carried out in this paper.
