Abstract : The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in psychological studies marks a transformative era in both fields. AI enhances psychological research and practice in many ways, as this review study shows. We begin by tracing the history of AI in psychology, from simple computational models to complex algorithms. The study then examines AI applications in psychology, including data analysis, pattern identification, and AI-driven therapy and mental health treatments. AI is emphasised for improving psychological evaluation accuracy and efficiency. We study how machine learning algorithms have analysed complicated psychological information to provide insights beyond statistical approaches. New research on AI's capacity to understand and predict human behaviour and mental health issues are also discussed. AI ethics in psychology are crucial to the argument. We discuss privacy, consent, and AI's capacity to perpetuate psychological research biases. Model interpretability and generalizability are additional issues when incorporating AI into psychology. The paper synthesises evidence to forecast AI's psychological role. We help academics and practitioners use AI ethically and practically. This paper explains AI's current and future possibilities to enhance psychology studies for academics, practitioners, and stakeholders.
