An Efficient Path Selection in Software Defined UAV Network

Abstract : Many applications of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has gained significant attention in recent years. However, UAVs need a reliable communication infrastructure to communicate with other devices and share information. Software-defined networking (SDN) is a promising solution for managing communication in UAV networks. In this paper, we proposed a path selection algorithm to efficiently select paths for UAV communication in a software-defined UAV network. Our algorithm utilizes the OpenFlow protocol and the STP Protocol to select the most efficient path based on various network metrics such as delay, throughput, and link quality. We also implemented our algorithm in the OMNeT++ simulation environment and evaluated its performance. Our simulation results showed that our algorithm can select the most efficient path for UAV communication in the network, reducing delay and increasing throughput.
