Abstract : In India, many farmers face the arduous task of travelling long distances to livestock centres, incurring both time and financial costs, to check the weights of their goats. This challenge not only disrupts their daily routines but also has consequences for livestock management and overall agricultural productivity. In today’s rapidly advancing technological land-scape, the integration of AI and computer vision algorithms presents an opportunity to address this issue effectively. In light of these challenges, we propose a novel architecture that leverages the power of AI and computer vision to determine body measurements and predict the body weight of goats. Our hybrid model combines the robust YOLOv8 algorithm for object detection and the sophisticated Roboflow algorithm for image segmentation, offering a comprehensive solution for analysing goat images. This integrated approach promises to revolutionize goat weight estimation, eliminating the need for farmers to travel to distant centres and significantly improving livestock management practices.
