Abstract : The present work describes the parametric studies of multi cracked structures subjected to moving load. The cracks are located at different locations of the structure with irregular crack depths. Analysis has been focused on a cracked simply supported beam and a cracked fixed simply supported beam. Numerical method adopted for the analysis is the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. During the movement of the mass on the damaged structure, the structure’s response has been investigated. An inclusive parametric investigation has been carried out to analyse the effects of various parameters like speed, crack depth, mass and crack locations on the response of the structure. Numerical analysis along with experimental verifications has been executed for the structural system to validate the adopted method. The results obtained from both the works converge in good.
